Review by SDYR Board:

The SDYR Board will review all submitted applications. The board will assess candidates based on their alignment with Republican values, their commitment to the principles of the SDYR, and their viability for the position they are seeking endorsement for. The board may seek clarification on any points in the candidate’s application by contacting the campaign directly.

Deliberation and Recommendation:

The board will deliberate on suitability for endorsement. They will consider the candidate’s application materials, alignment with SDYR values, and any other relevant factors.

Endorsement Announcement:

Once the voting process is complete at the beginning of May, SDYR will publicly announce their endorsements for the respective positions with an official press release. Endorsed candidates will receive official notification from the organization via email, along with a social media graphic that will be promoted through SDYR’s communication channels. Additionally, SDYR will issue a voter guide when ballots drop. If candidates choose to make their own press release announcement, we ask for quotes from the SDYR President to get approved by emailing [email protected]

Support and Collaboration:

SDYR will actively support and collaborate with endorsed candidates throughout their campaigns. This support may include but are not limited to a campaign job portal, volunteer recruitment, fundraiser assistance, event promotion, and earned media to help the candidate reach a broader audience within the San Diego community. SDYR will organize volunteer deployments in different regions of the County for targeted races. For timelines, please refer to Article 5 of our bylaws.
